Since the completion of the Children's Safety Studies, conducted by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, Tim has worked with hundreds of children, young people and adults to better understand what they need to improve safeguarding efforts.
The importance of trustworthy relationships, of shared language and of strategies that strengthen children and adults' knowledge, skills and confidence have been stressed as ways in which families and communities can be engaged.
Drawing on this work and with other groups of vulnerable people, Tim showcases what he has learned and ways in which safeguarding cannot only reduce risks of harm but also build children's happiness, safety and wellbeing.
